Boxer Rescues

Boxer rescues encourage any breeder to test the breeding dogs before mating. If you decided to adopt a pet, make sure you know everything about its requirements, health and upkeep. Fill out an application form, and answer the questions a volunteer will ask you during the home visit. An adopted dog tends to make a wonderful pet. Adopted animals are usually housebroken and provided with basic obedience training. They live in foster homes prior to finding permanent homes. Foster owners rehabilitate and socialize abandoned dogs. They know about the temperament of their animals and can help with the choice of a pet. Boxer rescues encourage any breeder to test the breeding dogs before mating. To view a complete gallery of pictures, just click on Pictures for easy viewing!

These are muscular, short-coated, square-headed dogs with tight skin and a docked tail. Males stand 22.5-25 inches at the withers and weigh about 70 pounds. Females are a bit smaller at 21-23.5 inches and about 60 pounds. These dogs make wonderful family pets and guardians. In temperament, these dogs are happy, high-spirited, playful, curious and energetic. These dogs will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. They need a lot of attention from their owners. Early socialization and firm consistent training is a must for this breed; otherwise these dogs may become dominating and stubborn. Boxer rescues encourage any breeder to test the breeding dogs before mating.
